Through the Fire

$50.00

Click to here to watch the video about how this piece was made or check out the step by step gallery at the bottom of this page!

This ancient looking, battle worn fireman’s axe was made by master artisan Daniel Stuart and is symbolic not only of the physical challenges that our brave fireman face but also of the inner fire that we all must face to create our better selves. Let it be a reminder that sometimes in order to save ourselves we need to knock down walls and face the flames. The worn axe head and wrapped handle is a snapshot into our past and reveals that destruction is the opposite side of creation.

Each original piece was forged in steel and then castings were made from high-grade, lead-free pewter. Pewter is one of the oldest man-made alloys in the world, dating as far back as the beginning of the Bronze Age. It’s been used by the ancient Egyptians, Romans, early Norse and many other civilizations as well.

Each piece is hand finished to keep the fine details and rugged look of the original then lacquered for protection. It won't change color but will wear slightly over time giving it a beautiful antique and worn look that only adds to the story and gives the wearer a great visual conversation starter. Connection and conversation is the point of these unique handmade jewelry pieces.

- Daniel Stuart

Note: the cord wrapped handle on the finished piece will be pewter as well once the casting process is complete. It will look much like the Anchor or Maui Hook pieces found in the Primeval Artifacts category.

Gargoyle

$65.00

Check out the video on the making of this piece here! or check out the step by step gallery at the bottom of this page!

This ancient looking wearable artifact was created by master artisan Daniel Stuart. Masks hold a fascination for many people. Not only do they convey a message on the surface but they point to something beyond themselves. The idea that, although we may show one thing on the surface, there is something with much more depth and complexity looking out from underneath. Who is looking through those eyes and underneath the facade that we present to the world?

This forged gargoyle is on its outside a guardian spirit; scaring away evil forces and maybe bringing to bear Just a hint of a mischievous nature. As you wear this mask let it serve to remind you that in this crazy world of social media and mass marketing, often times what we are looking at is not the total picture. There is something more underneath every manifested image we see. A unifying connector that unites our humanity and life itself.

Masks are fun and we all wear them daily, most of us more figuratively than literally. Just remember that you and those you come in contact with are more than the persona which is presented to the world. Keeping that in mind we can have fun as the actors on the stage and not get lost in the ongoing show.

Unobstructed

$50.00

Click here to see a video on the meaning of this piece and how it was forged from start to finish! or check out the step by step gallery at the bottom of this page!

Unobstructed, like all of the Elder forms, speak to the old wisdom that we each possess. The body of this piece is worn and battle-scarred representing our bodies that have been through a lot of trials and tribulations in this life. They carry with them the marks of age and expansion. The inner circle is representing the circle of our awareness with the idea to keep it open and unclogged from clinging wants and desires. Not that we should not be ambitious or not but, rather we should tame ambition and keep our desires within the context of the reality and which we find ourselves. All that to say it is important to allow life to be what it is and not cling to it with a grasping neediness. The spiral form that is in the center of this piece is symbolic of that which is in our field of awareness at any given moment. People, places, things, ideas, Etc all flow into our conscious awareness.

There is an inward flow and an outward flow throughout our lives and throughout our daily experience. Allowing the present moment to transition into the next moment is the idea that is symbolized in this piece. It is easy to cling to things that we want but it is more advantageous for us to enjoy what we have in the present while leaving an open space for what's to come. Wear this artwork as a symbol and a reminder that the universe is always bringing new things into our experience and we should be mindful to keep the channel open.
